traffic to my websites and affiliate promotions. One of the forms of traffic
that I used to put at the back of the line was list building programs... you

Subject lines can make or break your email marketing strategy.
They're the most important of any email marketing campaign because if you
don't
convince the reader to immediately open and read your message, it'll
likely end up
in the trash!
When you're thinking up subject lines, picture your reader in front of
their computer
faced with a bulging inbox.
As they glance over your subject line, what's going to make them open it
first?
For starters, nothing is more effective than using the reader's name in the
subject line
to catch their attention.
But your subject line must also answer the first questions on your reader's
mind:
§ "So what?"
§ "What's in it for me?"
§ "Why
should I open your message (out of the dozens waiting for me)?"
Only a few subject lines angles actually answer these questions. We've
tested thousands -
and these four approaches have been consistent
winners…
Angle #1: Make an announcement or share news
People want to be the first
to find out new things - especially if your site covers a
specific
industry.The news could be about your site (e.g., "Lana, we'd like your
feedback")
or about the topic of interest (e.g., "Michael, here's a new back
exercise").
Angle #2: Make the reader curious
You can do this by suggesting the
reader is missing out on an important offer or piece of
information (e.g.,
"Chris, are you making this common mistake?"). It's important to leave
something to the imagination when using this technique, usually by posing a
question the
reader can't ignore.
Angle #3: Create a sense of urgency
You do this by either limiting time
(e.g., "Mary, just three days left") or quantity
(e.g., "David, last 50
copies available now").
This approach works especially well when you're creating a follow-up
mailing - and it's
a great way to motivate people to take action now! But
don't overdo it… creating a sense
of urgency too often can be a bit like
crying wolf, so use it carefully and sparingly.
Angle #4: Emphasize how the reader will benefit from reading your
email
Out of these four angles, you'll always be most successful if your subject
lines state a
clear benefit and tell the reader exactly how they're going to
save money, save time,
or make their life easier by reading your email
(e.g., "Christina, save $25.00 or more
every time you fly").
If you can state a benefit AND create curiosity, so much the better! The
key to writing
benefit-laden subject lines is to consider your product or
service from your customers'
point of view.
Write subject lines using these angles - particularly ones that emphasize
benefits -
and we guarantee you'll dramatically increase the number of
people who open and read

The Art of the Deal Jane's Sunday
Sermon
When I want to get my 5 year old grandson
to eat something for dinner, we make a deal
" Eat your chicken, Alex",
says I, "and then
we can have chocolate pudding together."
Alex raises
his hand in delight, points
it to me. " Deal! " He
says.
If you watched any of the Democratic rules
committee meeting
yesterday, you would have
seen the making of deals in action.
One of the
most poignant moments was when
a woman on the rules committee, who
argued
most vociferously and elegantly for her position
lost the vote on
it.
She then turned around and voted for a compromise
motion
explaining " you are seeing democracy in action.
It is a
compromise"
It was a real teaching moment to all in the
audience who
felt their position was the only
correct one and could only express
themselves
through cheers or jeers.
The art of the deal is knowing when to hold them
and knowing
when to fold them and it is true for
everyone in their personal lives, in
their political
lives and certainly in any business dealing you
may
undertake.

No one works
alone on the net.
If you are an affiliate of a program, you are
working with
the owner of that program and
you have worked out a deal.
If you are an owner of a program, you are
working with your
members and your affiliates
and you have worked out a deal.
If you need programming, you work out a deal
If you need
help, you work out a deal
If you enter joint ventures, you work out a
deal.
Most of the time business ventures are grounded
in deals and
it is the Art of making those deals
that can ground your business or leave it
floating
in limbo.
What makes a good deal?
It's when each party or every party
feels they
benefited in some way.
Let's go back to our example of the meeting of
the
Democratic Rules and Bylaws committee.
What the Democrats did was take a very
dicey
problem and give something to everyone so that
they could claim
victory.
The problem...
Florida and Michigan primary voters were
told
their votes would not count. They went to the polls
anyway and many
voted.
When it seemed that their votes really would not
count, they
were angry.
The problem needed a fix.
The players
The Democratic Rules and Bylaws Committee
The
Democratic Party
Florida and Michigan
Hillary Clinton
Barack
Obama
Hillary Clinton wanted the votes to count ,in full,
because
it was her only possible way to the
nomination for president. She and her
supporters
were angry.
Barack Obama wanted the votes to count but
not
change the outcome of the nomination process
He and his supporters were
angry.
The Democratic rules committee ,who was
responsible for this
mess, were angry.
The Democratic party needed to fix this
and they were
angry.
So what we have here are 5 angry parties with
competing
interests and a need to solve them
The Goal.
The goal for Michigan and Florida was to get
their votes
back.
The Goal for Hillary Clinton was to try to close
in on
Obama's lead in pledged delegates.
The Goal for Obama was to prevent Hillary from
getting too
close to his lead and to unite the
party.
The goal for the Democratic Party was to unify
their party
and begin to show a united front to
the country.
The goal for the rules and bylaws committee
was to undue a
mistake they had made.
At first glance these opposite and polarizing
goals
seem almost insurmountable.
What do you do with insurmountable goals?
You try to make
everyone a winner.
The outcome.
The Democratic rules and bylaws committee
worked the better
part of two days.
Here was the outcome.
They agreed to give Florida and Michigan
half their votes
and allow them to be seated
at the Democratic convention in August
and
they agreed to a formula where the intent of
the voters would be taken
into account.
The Winners
The voters of Florida and Michigan got
what
they wanted. They got a seat at the
table and the right to participate even
if
their votes only counted half. They claimed
victory.
Hillary Clinton was a winner because she
is now able to
claim that she fought for the
voters of Florida and Michigan even if
she
was unable to changed the outcome of the
nomination.
Barack Obama was a winner. He was able
to give both Hillary
and Florida and Michigan
most of what they wanted without giving away
his
eventual nomination.
The Rules committee was a winner because
they got the job
done.
The Democratic Party was able to show they
could do business
and unite the party for the
most part when they had to.
Sure there were angry protestors outside
and inside the
meeting.
Sure there were some harsh words exchanged
in the debates back
and forth.
Sure there were some sore losers.
But...basically yesterday was a lesson in the
Art of the
deal and if you missed it, I suggest
you try to catch it on a rerun on
C-Span. It
really was a job well done.
So what should You do when faced with
business dealings on
the net.
First...decide what your goal is in any
negotiation you
enter.
You goals may vary at any given time
Sometimes your goal may
be just to
meet and get to know someone so you
can do business with them
in the future
Sometimes your goal may be to get some
free teaching
instruction or mentoring or
advice.
Sometime your goal is to get at least
50% of a money deal or
better if you are
in a position of strength.
Sometimes your goal may be just to do
something helpful to
someone else in
order to pocket a kind of IOU down
the
road.
No matter what your own goal is, make it
your business to
first get to know what your
potential partner's goal is.
If you don't know what the other party wants
in a
negotiation, you may spin your
wheels and end of up like ships that past
in
the night.
The simplest way to know what someone wants
is to ask them
for the information you need.
For example if you are interested in doing
an
ad swap with someone, ask them how large
their list is. Without that
knowledge, you have no
idea how to set up the ad swap in a fair way
to
each party.
If you want to know how much money you can
make out of a
particular deal, ask what the
price point and the pay plan are right at the
get
go so you know if you are interested in pursuing this
Don't assume
that you know what the other person
wants or that they are on your wave
length.
Ask them what you can do for them and how
you can help them and
listen to what they are
telling you.
It may be that once you learn that information
you have
nothing to offer them either because
your lists or your business model is not
a good
fit.
Or you may find out after listening that you can
offer them
something at your own site that will
be beneficial to them even if it may not
directly
benefit you at that moment.
Or you may find that you really do have a good
fit for your
sites or your services or your talents
and can make a deal right
away.
You cannot make a deal with someone if there is no
benefit
in it to them and unless you know what
they consider to be a benefit, you
will not know
how to make a valuable deal at all.
So the first step in the art of making a deal is
to listen
and learn and to know what the other
guy is after.
Once you know that, the rest is easy.
Figure out a way to
meet the needs of your
partner and, if it will not greatly
disadvantage
you, go the extra mile and give them more than
they asked
for.
When my partner Phil plans a site for our
members, he asks
himself several questions.
1) What would I like to see on a site that would
be
beneficial to me .When he knows the answer
he doubles and triples it's value
for the potential
members.
2) He asks himself what is that my current
members
are asking for that may be missing on a site now
and he tries to
give them everything they are asking for
and more.
3) When he designs the
price point her asks
Is this affordable to most people?
Is it competitive
on the market?
Am I giving value for dollars?
Can I teach my members how
to use this effectively?
Once he knows these parameters, the last question
he asks is
will it be profitable to me?
Without answering the first three questions above
that meets
the needs of our members, the last question
is irrelevant.
Phil knows that if he designs a site that is useful
for his
members, it will be profitable to him. If
not it will fail.

Einstein's Theories on The Spider Web Marketing System

Albert Einstein once said that the
definition of insanity is: doing the same thing over and over again and
expecting different results. I like to look at it as banging your head against a
wall and expecting to make money for it. Doesn't usually work too well. There is
apparently quite the debate amongst bloggers as to whether this was originally
said by Benjamin Franklin, or Einstein, or someone else. Either way, its true.
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is just
not very smart any way you slice it.
The same thing applies to any business. The
businesses that break the mold and do something new succeed. Those that continue
with the status quo eventually are shown the Chapter 11 door. Horse carriage
makers used to think that the whole automobile fad was just a phase that would
pass. In a more modern example, huge, established airline companies are
struggling while new, smaller companies are succeeding by focusing on low fares
and customer satisfaction.
I know that is true, because when I first
started in MLM, I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on leads. I made 100 cold calls a
day to my "Hot Opportunity Seeker Leads"I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on training
courses and "Proven Turnkey Systems". I tried a different Company, then another,
then anotherI went to weekly Hype-filled "Rah!-Rah!" Opportunity Meetings or
conference calls. It wasn't quite as successful as I had hoped, to put it
lightly.
The original businesses of network
marketing began almost 100 years ago, with vitamin sales in the US. Since then,
its has grown into an enormous and comprehensive industry with companies on all

Anyone who has ever bought into the dream
of network/multi-level marketing knows that its not perfect, myself included.
I became involved with it because I loved
the idea of flexibility. I was excited by the comfort of working from home.
I wanted to supplement my primary income. I had a desire to be my own boss.
I was interested in entrepreneurship. I have a knack for

Many who tout it will promise that its a
